Supporting Cast of Bleach

Not a common question I suppose...but anyways. Prehaps why I feel Bleach is so engrossing is not only the over-all story, theme, Tite Kubo's art, and putting the main crew aside; it's the supportive characters that have been added. Most are for humor aspect but think about Ichigo's family and characters like Tatsuki, personally without characters such as these, the main characters won't be the way the are now.

Do you feel that they helped shape the main characters into what they are as we see them at the present? Or do you feel the story and main characters won't have changed dispite the supporting cast? Are they truly there for humor aspect or are they there for more?

Hope this doesn't bring spoilers...that would be a no-no...<( >< )>;;;

Well, I think that they don't have a major role in shaping of the main-characters but it's fun when they are around otherwise the anime would be too gloomy. In short, I think they are for humor aspect. (Maybe Tatsuki is not like other sup-char's like Mizuru or whomever.)

True they can be for humor aspect but to me, Ichigo wouldn't be in the position he is in without his family to protect and Orihime wouldn't be the same if Tatsuki wasn't there for Orihime at those times of needs. I just feel they'd be different people ya know? It's like you're shaped by your parents, your peers, the media etc. Outside factors mold you. ^_^

Yes! most definately you get to see a different part of the characters when the interact with others and if it wasn't for the humour Bleach would be quite dull and not as entertaining :winking56.

We can even parallel this with Naruto. There's like a GAH-ZILLION supporting cast members that have helped shape the characters as we see them. Itachi to Sasuke, Everyone to Naruto, and aswell as Gai and Lee, Lee would not be the same without Gai. Heck, he'd be a totally diffrent person and that would make me cry. T_T I love my Green Beast of Konoha! Bohahaha!

Exactly! A lot of characters interact with Naruto because he is the main character that also happens in Bleach with Ichigo meeting Rukia wanting her back and his mother.

Ponpiki- You are completely right! It's amazing how the main characters personalities were created and defined by the minor characters. Like how insane Ichigo's dad is. It makes sense that Ichogo would become a grumpy boy when his dad is so happy all the time. They view things so differently; plus, usually when a father is extreme in one area, the son wants to be the opposite. Like if a father is an alchoholic, the son might deside never to drink alcholol. Ichigo's dad seems really happy, and Ichigo has angry lines on his forehead most of the time. Does that make any sense at all?

OOH! And the two "cute boys" as they've been called (I don't remember their names, so that will have to do!) are so hilarious! The shorter boy who only likes girls who are older than him (which puts Rukia at risk! :biggrinlo What is she, 150??), and the guy that's always with him. The two stupid ones? Okay, everybody know who I'm talking about now? Well, I like that Tite Kubo added them in, since we get to see how other people see Ichigo when he's not around, and their lives are like little side stories....and how Tatsuki was the first one to beat Ichigo up during Karate.....o-kay, I'm just rambling now. :eek13:
