Am I the only one who really loves this game? I searched for it, but no one seems to have heard of it.
It's about a man who had 48 of his body parts stolen by 48 Fiends. His father sold them to the Feinds for the power to unite Japan. Little did he know, but his son was the one who was destined to defeat the Feinds. When his son was born and missing his body parts, he put him into a barrel and floated him down the river. His son was found by a doctor named Jyukai. Jyukai decided to take him in as his own. After awhile, he decided to operate on the young boy. He was able to give him everything that he was missing artaficaly. The boy could now move around on his own, and could see and hear with his mind's eyes and ears. Jyukai then gave him the name Hyakkimaru. As Hyakkimaru grew older, a voice told him that if he defeted the Feinds, he would get his body parts back. So Jyukai decided to do one last operation on Hyakkimaru before he left. He gave him weapons in his arms and legs. On his arms, he gave him swords, and a machine-gun. In his left leg he gave him a powerful cannon. Now armed with these weapons and a normal katana, Hyakkimaru set off to go defeat the Feinds.
Pretty good story huh? It gets even better when you meet 'the world famous thief, Dororo'. Dororo stays with you because he/she wants the blades that are attached to your arms. He/She's a cute kid and can sneak into places that Hyakki can't. He/She can also throw rocks. He/She gets more weapons later, but you have a limited number of those, and rocks do alot of damage anyway.
It's fun because you can play with two players as Hyakki and Dororo. It's especaly fun for Dororo because he/she can't actually die. He/she just wakes up a few seconds after he/she loses all of his/her life.
It's interesting at the begining of the game, because it's all in black and white until Hyakki gets his eye back. Then there is the part that you wish he would never get back, his voice box. Sure, it's important to be able to speak, and sure all the girls say he has a sexy voice (Out of game girls...), and sure it's the first thing you get back, but that means one thing. It means that every time you walk up to a save point Hyakki will say, without fail, "I can save the game here.". That happens EVERY time. It would be annoying if I didn't find it so funny. Now whenever I run into a save point in any other game I think "I can save the game here.".
One other thing to point out. This game is dubbed, but the dub is REALLY good. I first noticed this when they all said Hyakkimaru and Dororo correctly. Even if you hate dubs, this one is really good.
If you haven't played this game, I suggest that you do. If you have, come talk about it.
