Doom 3
Just try playing at night with the curtains open and your closet closed all the way and hearing strange noises (later I found out it was my brother banging on the wall).

OMG, the lost souls used to scare the crap out of me in Doom 3. Their shreaking and ability to go through walls always made for unpleasant surprises. The cherubs were pretty weird too. I hated the baby sounds they would make.

Agreed prophecy.. Fatal Frame scared me... *shudders* I still remember those days... I'm so glad I finished that game and never got to play it again.
I remember being scared of Resident Evil 1 when it was released. But then again that was because I was too young.

Eternal Darkness was a pretty scary game. Some of the insanity effects like the moaning and screaming just made you uncomfortable while playing. The genuinely frightening effects is when an image or thing would just suddenly appear with a loud sound. I can admit to jumping more than a couple times because of that feature.

Well games do not really scare me...but the mansion level in VTM:Bloodline's Kinda creeped me out. The whispering and ghosts running around kinda messed with my head. Plus the whole vases and crap flying at me at unexpected moments kinda was surprising.

Yeah, FEAR sorta scared me when I played it. Those flashbacks can get on your nerves though.
Doom 3 wasn't too scary. I hate it when the monsters pop up behind you, especially in the dark, which is annoying. And you walk past a dead corpse and what do you know, it becomes a zombie and attacks you from behind.
This old shooting game called Blood had its scary moments. A friend and I played it, we got scared, and stopped playing it.
F.E.A.R.
ITs just scary, plain and simple. Its not jump out at you scary, but psychological and suspenseful.

F.E.A.R. didn't actually scare me, mainly because i was too busy pwning my way past everything in sight, the only times where i became uneasy was when the action got slow and the ghost images came out, and towards the end when you see her giving birth or whatever
Doom 3 wasnt scary, but then i said that to my at the time g/f, turned around to look at her and a tile fell from the roof and i had a wee jump lol, playing it in the dark with 5.1 sound made it easy to give you wee frights if you got really into it

Doom 3 the thing I really was scared about with this game was the whole there is a zombie over there in ur flashlight but u gotta switch to ur gun and lose all light to kill that stupid zombie. I remember when it was pitch black and I needed the lashlight to see.

Doom 3!!! the first time i played the game was at 2am and my roommate was sleeping so the room was totally dark and i was using headphones. I still remember there was this abrupt cutscene (doom3 players should know) when you first stare at the mirror in a dim lighted washroom. Made me jump out of my seat. :X

I think the 1st Resident Evil game was a classic scary game. RE3 was just suprising at time. RE4 didn't have so much scare as I thought it would have, but the game itself was badass, and I enjoyed every minute playing it to the end. Plus, the blonde girl was pretty cute, I'd definintly tap that ass. ;)
The ending, when Leon and Rebecca were taking off on the speed boat was funny. I thought for sure Leon was going to say yes when Rebecca asked for that romantic dinner at her place. Then he saysn, "Umm.. No thanks." LOL, he's crazy to say no! Although she seemed kinda down when he did say that, haha.

Silent Hill 1 towers above all.
Quoted for Truth.
All the other SH games were a HORRIBLE dissapointment after the first one. I found myself laughing more then anything.
Resident evil was funny, Barry saying "You almost got turned into a Jill Sandwich" flailing around like a retard is still one of my favorite gaming moments ever.
Doom 3 was boring, and just made me mad. Way to many time i ended up bieng like "WTF, were did this thing come from eating out my ass, i cleared that place like 8 damn times"
Now reisdent Evil 4 was a GREAT game. not all to scary. but every other aspect made up for it.
But ya, in the end, the original Silent Hill rules.

Resident Evil is really nothing more then scary noises and surprises that jump at you from around the corner, after that you probably got killed so next time you won't even jump.

Parasite Eve wasn't a scary game, but it was a great game nonetheless. I was disappointed with the 2nd game though, not as good. I was hoping for a 3rd release, but doesn't look like it's going to happen...
IDK, it was just something about the 2nd game that ruined it. I couldn't quite put my finger on it but I know there were several things there that made me dislike it. They also changed some things and it ended up being worse than better. Sometimes I wish they remaked the 1st parasite eve game, god, that game was awsome!

Fatal Frame 2 scared the living daylights out of me, even though I only played for about half an hour. I was never one to enjoy the concept that something is close, but it's not telling you where it is, so I just tend to wait in the same spot and just hope it makes itself known so I don't have to run into it unexpectedly (which is probably the reason why I'm not all that good at Resident Evil 4). Silent Hill games are, naturally, disturbing and most of the time, extremely frightening (I can still remember the body crucified on the chain link fence in the first game, but that was a long time ago).
And, of course, the Resident Evil games. The Crimson Heads were the worst, in my opinion (right next to the spiders, but that's only because I can't stand arachnids at all, you see), the whole idea of something, once thought of to be killed by your own gun, running back towards you like a demon. Not very cool at all.
heh....to me it has to be Resident Evil 2.

Fatal Frame II. My friend made me play it... T_T
Also, at the beginning of Metroid Prime II, when the bodies were hanging from the cielling, and then in one of the rooms they suddenly came alive. But then I realized that they bounce when you shoot them and the zombies were easy to beat. So, it was funny. But still a great game.

Um, even though Resident Evil 4 isnt that scary as a whole. I am so scared of that blind thing with claws in the prison. OMG I FREAKED OUT when it started chasing me and since I started running it heard where I was and gave pursuit. To this day I HATE going into the prison.

Really.
My little cousin rented it one evening, and I nearly cried. It was emotionally stressing..:(
On a more serious note, the Silent Hill games gave me the jibbies. Especially in the first one, where the radio would crackle when a freak was around..>.>
