Extreme AMD Overclock Suicide (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=5393904704265757054&q=AMD+duron+vaporizing)

This video is obscene and kind of amazing. All I will say is NEVER let your system run with a fan failure. ESPECIALLY when overclocked.

AND UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD YOU LIFT THE HEATSINK OFF THE CPU WHILE THE COMPUTER IS ON. O_o

"It exlplode!"

"What happened?"

For a guy that just lost his CPU, he didn't sound upset at all.

im betting since they had the computer basically as a pile of parts on a table, he wasnt worried. it was a duron. the highest power duron i know is 1.3GHz stock.

he said it was doing 3.8 before he lifted the heatsink. pretty incredible huh?

Indeed, it is. That's one tough chip.

haha that's funny but i wonder if he had anything on the hd?

HD shouldnt be affected. The motherboard is dead for sure though since it has a hole :). The CPU chip is also obviously busted. The rest should be reusuable like HD, Ram, Vid card, extras

*lol*
"There is a hole!"
haha the explosion even made a hole in the desk.

that chip shouldnt have exploded, it should have fried in place, and it should never have reached that point with not even a heatsink fan running, with this stuff pointed out, i have a hard time believing that it actualy exploded on its own because of being overclocked too high.

I agree with Sump. It should of melted right there. Doesnt really make sense for a chip to pop out like that. Especially when the fan wasnt even running.

if you look closely at the motherboard, i dont even see any motheboard lights on, and if youve ever put a computer together, you know that there would be no way a chip because of overheating could build up enough pressure to pop out like that, my opinion is its setup, and the chip was probably rigged.

They could easily place smt. under the table to make an explosion, that might explain the hole in the desk as well.
