A massive amount of spammy and pointless "what's your favourite?" threads have been closed and moved to the recycle bin.
Debates are for intelligent and indepeth discussion of (a) conflicting issue(s) whereby two or more people have opposing views on the issue.
These type of threads that have been moved will not be permitted in the debates section any longer. All other instances like this will now receive similar treatment, be closed and moved.
There will eventually be a set of solid based rules that will be stickied here in place of this thread as this one is only temporary for the time being whilst these rules are drawn up and decided upon by the senior members of staff.
Any reoccuring instances of these types of threads will result in the authors receiving their first warning.
Any secondary occurances thereafter will result in a 24 hour ban.
If once the user returns, they insist on following the same pattern of spammy and pointless posting of idiotic and non-"debatable" discussions they will receive their second warning and will be awarded a one week "chill out" session and be banned for the duration of that week.
Anything after they return...and...BAN...KAI!!
For the benefit of ALL posters who post in the debates section, I would advise browsing the recycle bin to see the types of threads that will no longer be tolerated.
It will save you from making any future mistakes in the types of debate thread you might make.
