debates~ good/bad?

I personally, love debating stuff~ letz you get ur opinions out there, and it teaches ya a lot more about how individuals think and their morals. Despite that though, i kno debating drives my mother insane, and she cant stand being around it~ nomatter what the topic is. What do you guys think?

It is good, you can learn a lot from other people and their views. Jes don't let it get to personal flames and debates are a good thing. :)

i dont really care much for learning in a debate
the most imporant aspect is improving your debating skills
usually those who debate have already gained knowlegde from both sides and use their persuasive ability to convince others to believe the same
this is mostly because a good debate must be able to predict and counter the opponents agrument

i've always been a debater, it's just natural. my mom also hates it cuz she the type that's always right and doesn't like when someone undermines her opinoin, worse they convince the rest that she's wrong. we fight alot, i usually win.
i like to think of myself as a liberal, open-minded person, so i like to hear other people's opinoin and understand why they are different/same as mine.

Debating is fun, if you know how to do it. And it's also nice to know something new after you're done. Debating also lets you see things in a new light that you havn't ever consider before. It's a great mental excercise, for everyone.

I wonder, why does a bad an a good exists... How can you tell for sure if something is bad or good?
Just because lots of stuff is written in a book, it doesn't mean if what we do is really good or bad.

there isnt a good or a bad only viewpoints
we all have different goals hopes and dreams and when they cloide good and evil are born
we use these two words to justify what we do when in the end it all comes down to who wants it bad enough the book of god says a lot of things are evils sins but some still commit them anyway and the last thing a soul wants to do is hurt it self so it sees that bad as a good and so the world spins round with out the other noting would exist

Viewpoints are...well...viewpoints. They are simply interpretation of a situation, and whether it is good or bad depends on those who read it, and in turn interpret. That in essence is debate. We voice out opinions to find a certain point on the line where we can all either agree or disagree to the given situation.

I like to debate i think im not bad at it but im my home language ;p in english i think that my vocabulary is poor and using the same words over and over so i would look rather stupid in a serious debate using the same words over and over ; p

debate can actually be fun or even dreadful. if the topic is fun, the debate will also be fun. if the topic is bad, then we will hate it.

That's the challenge. Being given a topic we disagree but we are forced to argue as if we agree is good practice in turning black into white. If you practice after a while, you become used to seeing different aspects of a situation without really having to think hard.

I LOVE to debate, it's a great way to relieve stress, get your opinion out in the open and try to get people to see things your way.

However, unlike many of you may think, I do not like to debate in person because when debating verbally with a person there is a chance that I will be interrupted without being able to make my point across (happens all the time).

But now that I'm back, I can debate with Uzi again! The joy! *glomps Uzi, Zero (I'm back to haunt him), Asian and OutlawEmblem...did I forget anyone?*
