ugh... awfuly laggy since alot of people play... not that much servers either.. so ur stuck lagging like mad. the graphics are nice. overall the job system is like every other mmorpg game.. ex maple story, ro etc. and i pretty much go with sumpfy and db there too about the grinding.

Never liked this game.. played for a day =P and regretted downloading it O.O.
Well the concept was good, having elements on the weapon.. etc, etc.. But it gets very boring because of the repetitiveness. (Getting a cape to attack each other, at a low level was pretty good though =P).

i had a bash at this game a couple of months ago and i was dissapointed because that the servers always seemed to be packed and was frustrating trying to log in. Then the amount of time having to download all these updates for it. Then when in game its not even worth all the time waiting though you get to ride a horse hehe. Massive amounts of lag also in this for me

I played a few weeks too but I quit, I just can't force myself to killing the same monsters over and over and over again. It's getting borring.

Nah this game sounds a lot like runescape, possibly has the same loads of spyware that will make me reset my computer just like Runescape did. Besides I think Metal Gear Solid 3:Subsistence will be much better.

There are more servers and the game has been going through alot of upgrades and stuff. There are less lag now although from time to time the servers will be packed like H***.

I SOOOOOOO AGREE with Thelindra. U GOT ME HOOKED, GIRL!! Now i'm playing like i've never played an online game before. i love this kind of game and will continue to play until my lvl is high enough to kick @$$.

Seriously, I heard that the Silk Road Community is never good.
I could actually discourage people from playing this, but.... well... its your choice.

Reasons to support why.

1.) Lag
2.) Full servers
3.) Boring repetition
4.) Bad community - People are evil and dun wanna help. Little of them do.
5.) There are better MMORPGS set in China out there.

My comp runs on 1.4ghz. Don't say that it sucks. And don't use that "its free" excuse for that, i have seen this stupid excuse so many times. Seriously, theres no need to complain, but since your playing it, why don't you ask for a better quality work? Are you satisfied if it kept at the same level for eternalty?. I have played better free games that is lag free.

The more the people, the worse the problems will evolve into. More people = more lag = more hackers = more enjoyable gaming time

I can second this argument, but however, i have read first-handed accounts from gamers themselves, and it is not only one case. The GMs there are not helping out with the lag, hackers, botters, spammers, etc etc at all. I do read reviews.

I am not boycotting SRO or anything. I am just listing out whats bad, and let the player-wannabe decide for themselves. I don't usually argue against games, but this is one game i have to do it. However, they are only my opinions.

Well, Karides, everyone has their own opinions on the games that they think is good or bad. However, there are some points on your comments which i find rather wrong.

Most of the reasons are basically connected. You told me not to use the so-called stupid 'it's free' excuse. Well, it's not stupid. It's practical. Like i said earlier, unlike IntSro, the others SROs are at a better lvl and so players are more willing to spend their cash on the game. With a better response from the Korean market, of course the GMs will pay more attention to the Korean and Japan market rather than the INT one. Because of this, most users assumed that the GMs are not doing their work and blah blah blah. But think about it, if the GMs aren't doing their work, why is it that the lag is now reducing and we have extra stuffs in the game that we never have before. And then again, how can botters be banned if the GMs arent doing their work?

You said that you fight mobs over and over again and then die and wasted one hour of playing time. I would say..LOL. While to some ppl, exp means everything, there comes the more important part, the skillpoints collected. You may have lost alot of exp when u died but u still have the sp collected. You may have enough exp but if you dont have enough Sp, you're not going to enjoy this game to the fullest. SPs are very important if you want a kick @$$ character later on and a few extra SPs wot hurt.Some players even tried the 'suicide' way to sp farm. So even if you died after being killed by some mob, your one hour worth of playing time is NOT wasted at all. You still gain Sp and you gain items and gold.

Another thing, you asked me if i'm satisfied if the game is kept at the same lvl for eternalty. Well, if you're not updated at the moment, i'll tell you that SRO is not kept at the same lvl all the while. Things are so much better now compared to early this year where your comp lags alot and there are botters everywhere. The game just went through a big update and it's more fun now than ever.

One more thing, I've tried other games before and i dont like the way they go, it's either the graphic isnt as good as SRO or the game just sucks to me. And i dont see the point of playing so many games at once when u cant really concentrate on one game and lvl up and become one of the best characters there.

I still think that SRO is really good. I enjoy playing it as much as the other players in SRO do. I have great friends, a nice guild and lots of adventures (online, of course, not in reality LOL). And for that reason, I dont mind what the others think. The game doesnt lag that badly for my 2.67GHz comp and I dont get complaints from other players.

For those players who find SRO boring with lots of weakness, it's up to them to quit the game. I'm not saying that through my comments people must play the game. I'm merely stating that it's a really good game and i have lots of fun out of it. It wouldnt hurt for gamers to try out the game. I know because i didnt have the slightest regrets about downloading the game. So cheers! The game is what you think it is. :winking56

they got this Xtrap system where its very very strong than other gameshields. as it can fight against the codes of any program(going to cheat in game) well u shud play HERO if u want a better and clean game to play :)

Right click the one that looks like some kind of chest or something. When u move your cursor over it, it will show 'Stall'. It's that tab.

For those of you who like games like Silkroad but cant stand the lag, go for Hero. But if u want ppl to talk to, go for silkroad. Start lvling up, get into a guild, join a union and there's where your life in Silkroad starts.

For most ppl who find silkroad dull, it's because they havent got to the fun stage of the game yet. I admit as a low lvl noob in the game, u can do practically nothing except lvl up and quests. But once u reach a high lvl, about 40++, the game's under your control.

Yeah, i've seen those cases before, especially in DH where there's plenty of thieves vs. hunters duels. I remembered once standing in the middle of a group of high lvl thieves inside DH with a group of hunters on the outside.

I wasnt acting on any jobs so i thought i would be safe enough to move out of the safe zone. I did and the gang of thieves went out the same time. Before i know it, i was electric-shocked and died. Lol. Learnt my lesson.

Anyway, what's your built and what wep are you using? (applies to all sro players who bothers to answer me, anyway).

I'm using a str built character but i'm using a sword because it's the best wep i have so far.

I camped at the bandit stronghold before, waiting for TG to spawn, but she never did. I was suppose to be the healer of the party, healing my high-lvl friends when they're fighting her. It got so boring i left the site to go lvl up.

No particular jobs, although my guild is suppose to be a hunter guild (in the future when more of my members have lvled up). For me, personally, it depends on my mood, whether i'm feeling evil or good. lol.

oh yeah my wolf just reach lvl 25 XD it's still too weak to battle with me, but now it wouldn't die running along with me... since it has tons of hp (more hp than me :P)
btw why do you buy a white wolf??? i think it's more expensive than gray wolf... is it stronger? or are there any advantages for white wolves?

No, there's no particular advantages that the white wolf have from teh grey wolf. The only difference is the colour. Also, since the white wolf is from the item mall, u cannot sell it or trade it with another player.

A grey wolf is much better in the sense that, should u get tire of it, u can sell it off at a higher price (nameless wolf, that is.).
But the white wolf look really nice once it's grown up. Really a pretty thing.

And oh, yeah, an advice to future wolf trainers, be patient when lvling up your wolf. It takes time. Dont be like me. I made my lvl 14 wolf fight lvl 30 mobs. Result: Dead pup :s

white wolf has advatage that you can buy it right after you start playing the game, means that once u're lvl 5 you can use the wolf.
note: if you want your wolf to fight, make it fights with oponents that are less than 7 lvls higher than u

Anyway, i lag too. It takes a long time for me to kill a mob because i often lag while fighting. Most of the time i get killed because of lag. =_=; The longest i've lag so far is about 1 minute, but that's very rare. Most of the time it's between 5 seconds to 20 seconds.

My comp's ram is 448. And i'm not so sure about my graphic card. Any advice?

well graphic card doesn't do anything with lag much, it only effect things like graphic crash (cannot see color, gray gray gray....) or flying effecy (@_@) or invisible (=P~ i wish)

No Sp = no skills = no fun

But gold plays an important factor as well, although u can always earn gold anytime u kill a mob. Or do a job.

Sp is gets harder to earn as u lvl up. So it's best to do a little sp farming.

lol today the server got dramatic error which turned out to be a super special event. whatever you do in the server, nothing will be saved, if you die you dont lose exp, if use your hp/mp pots it doesn't drop the quantity ^^ etc. but if you buy something, you'll get disconnect :( so we had a messy massy pvp at the south gate of downwang ^^, the strongest was Tiger_Girl (str glavie lvl 41) and Jackie chan (int sword+5 lvl 39) and almost everyone were red and purple name *lol*
and then the traders also got disconnect if they sells their good so they decided to spread their goods all over the road in front of the south gate and inside downwang ^^ (i'll post more SS soon :D)

Grinding is killing mobs over and over and over for hours on straight without doing anything else for either EXP or MONEY.

I've been lvl 20++ for weeks and i still couldnt reach lvl 30. Somehow, i'm amazed at how some people can lvl up several lvls within a week without using gold tickets.

let me tell you guys a secret, under lvl 20 you gain extra 5 - 10% for exp of sp, which help you gain massive amount of sp at this "age"
SO, if you farm at 9 lvl gap under lvl 20, you could gain around 100k to 150k sp (amusing huh?) but i'm to lazy for that lol so i go up normally with 4-5 lvl gap
the trick to gain fast sp is to have a good bow ;). After lvl 20 it's hard to lvl up huh? so we could reduce the lvl gap to 0 and whew... up to lvl 60 in 2 weeks (this is true)
BUT it takes like 1 or 2 month to farm that much sp ;)

ps: :( i really miss my wolf in sro global :(

Izzuru, spears and glaviers lvl up the fastest beside bows. The reason why your previous character, Ryinn, lvl up faster than the current one was because the skill mastery lvl of Ryinn is equal to the lvl of the character itself.

When your skills mastery lvl is equal or almost equal to the lvl of your character, you gain alot of exp compared to sp and lvl up very fast.

glavie ~~> pure str ~~> use "Force" skill (really useful for glavie, u'll find it in game) no need for first and second skill though.

Yeah. I agree with Buituyenjr.

I'm a str blader (although i'm using a sword now) with fire (as main) for killing mobs and ice (for PvP). If i can farm enough sp...i'll keep the ice. If not, i'm gonna get rid of the ice and lightning imbue. I manage, then my tactic would be, freeze them (during PvP) and burn them. Seen high-ups do that before. kinda cool.

@Izzuru: Try running a guild, 'pal'.

It isnt easy to ask money from members because some players are still low lvls and thus do not have that much of gold as the high-ups. If you ask too much of gold from the high-ups, they will begin to get annoyed because the lowbies are not paying enough. If you ask the lowbies to pay large sums of gold, they too will be annoyed because some cannot afford it. If you ask them to volunteerily donate, you'll never achieve the target you aimed.

So i thought, nvrmind, since the guild is still rather inactive, i'll pay for the lvling gold first along with some contributions from certain members. When the guild lvl is much higher (perhaps lvl 4 and above) with mroe active members and when i can finally be real active myself, i will put down a new rule where each member will be required to pay a certain amount of gold during the uplvling of the guild.

Anyway, guild members should indeed pay to lvl up a guild. But there are certain aspect we have to look into before demanding for payment.

If the members of your guild are willing and active players, they should have no prob in paying or contributing anything. However, when a guild consist of low lvl players or players which are more self-focused, then we must have a plan to make them pay up without feeling like they are being forced into paying.

A guild is formed to give benefits to it's members. Therefore, if the members do not feel like they are gaining anything out of a guild which only makes them pay and grind, they might pull out. In such cases, mostly the guild leader is on the losing side. That is why some guilds ended disbanded.

In my case, i am a school student, and thus my playtime is rather limited. I am depending on my co-leader and guild advisor (my ex-guild leader) to run the guild in my absence.

I am trying not to put my members in situations where they feel confined by guild rules and union laws. This, hopefully, will give them more room to feel at home. Once friendships and mutual bondings are made within the guild, it will be much easier for me to convinced them to pay up, because by then, the guild will be like their home and family, and they will be more willing to contribute to it.

I have seen guilds in which their members are loving and caring to each other. They do not hesitate to help the others if the need arises. More than often, these group of players work together to uplvl the guild. These are the guilds that are either formed through pure friendship or by long term online friendships that allows them to get to know each other well enough to put in as much effort into the 'family' and to tolerate each others' weaknesses.

On the other hand, i have seen guilds which had met with their downfalls due to the lack of corporations between members. The guild either have too many strict rules which are completely incompatible to the benefits that the guild is giving to the member (friendship, assistance, fun etc.) or the members cannot tolerate one another to work together. There are many other reasons to a guild's downfall. But no matter what they are, they are mostly caused by the members themselves or the leader's inability to control and manage the guild.

Therefore, it is always for the best if we look into matter considering our members to ensure that everyone feels like apart of the family and not like they're in some kind of military school.

My lvl is still too low to do a safe trade yet. My first trade nearly left me crying. So an advice from a fellow high-up is that i trade only after i reach lvl 30; when i can finally kill all the mobs along the way from JGN to DH with ease.

do the 200 bombs quest, the drop rate is high, especially the second and the third time, it's like 2 bombs/3mobs and it gives good exp.

Btw, Izzuru, at your lvl now (below lvl 20), try a 9 lvl gap. It's better to do a 9 lvl gap now cause you gain more sp then a 5 lvl gap because between lvl 1-20, you can easily gain sp. Do a 5 lvl gap only when you're above lvl 20.

Hmm.....What really happened? You just got redirected straight back at the main page or what? Have you played before the game? Do you have any other accs before this?

EEk!! Erm..if the prob persist, you can get any other silkroad players to register for you (if you can trust them) using their comp. I do that for some of my guild members who have reached a max number of accs since i'm only using 2 accs.

@Buituyenjr: yup! That's the guild's mercenary!!

A guild mercenary's lvl is like the guild leader's lvl. Therefore, if the G.M is lvl 70, the guild will have an extra lvl 70 player with them during guild wars. And also, the number of mercenaries you can summon increase with the guild lvl. The higher the guild lvl, the more mercenaries the GM can summon. Also, all the items gained by the mercenary will go back to the GM. Oh WEE~! This is cool!!

But sadly, i have just let go of my guild leadership due to the fact that i'm not having enough time to play. :(

But most hackers dont hack accs through the game. It's an easy thing for them through the forum itself. And plus, sometimes expert players can send errors to the server causing it to be closed down for emergency inspection (imagine the whole server being kicked out).

Yep....but only lvl 3+ guilds are able to enjoy the guild shop. And the guild emblem is only valid to lvl 4+ guilds. Am currently working to make my guild super active so that we can finally be able to lvl up. LOL.

If i'm not mistaken (read it somewhere i cant remember), it says that the mercenary is suppose to be an exact clone of the guild leader. This would mean that the lvl and skills had to be the same as well. If the skills are the same, then i believe that the weapon has to be the same kind too.

I'm not really sure about this.

Guess we'll find out when we see some high-lvl guilds doing guild wars in-game. I would love to witness a guild war between high lvl guilds. It would be like watching some kind of martial art film, except that this one is live!! WEE~! Hehe (i'm not that bad, i meant ONLY friendly guild wars, not the ones where they really wanna kill every member of your guild over and over again =S ).

P.s: One good way to detect if someone's been in your acc is to have programmes like xfire, which detects the number of hour u played everyday. If you have been playing for 4 hours and you notice that it's written there 5 hours, you know someone's been to your acc.
