In situations such as the ones experienced by the Donner Party where they were trapped for months in the wintery mountains, is it justified to eat your fellow human being, even if they are dead?

I would say yes. You do what you must to survive... But if it was me I would preffer to be the one dead. (I'm saying this because I've never experienced it, I've heard that we would do anything we can to survive if the time is right)
I'm guessing it would be okay if the person gives his consent before you kill him to eat.. >_>
And if they're already dead then you can eat him if you wish..
imo, this is a nauseating topic.. =\

i agree to this is a nauseating topic
but i think its a good moral question
and puts practically into prespective

I guess in that situation the person with the weakest body dies first. I wouldn't eat anybody unless they were already dead, and only to save my life. I'd stand by that even if I'm the first one to go.

only if the situation calls for it. and i hope none of us get into one of those situations where you have to eat a friend. i would hope to be dead because that is uah auoaewkj i don't think it could eat some1 i know or even just met. its just uah

im with koop
eating a freind is revolting, and just the thought of it sickens me
however, hunger is powerful
i really dont know how long i would last
being the one eaten seems better to me. less moral conflict that way

>.>... I have no remorse for the dead,. and would devour that person in an instant... a dead man has no need for his flesh.
<.<... i dunno maybe im werid..
Well, I think eating the dead people would be fine from a logical point of view, but I would have to tell myself that for a couple days of hunger before I finally did it.

Supposedly humans tastes like pork because they eat similar things as us. I like pork, so I'll probably like humans too. But then by the time I would be doing that, the corpses would be gross and not as good as it could be. So I dunno. I don't feel wrong at all if the person is dead and you are not. You have to do what you have to do to survive. However this only holds true to strangers. I'm not sure if I could eat a friend or a family member. It depends on how desperate I am. Technically it all breaks down to the same molecular compounds that we normally eat.

If the person dies or willing allows for themselves to be eaten in a say the most extreme situation then I can't really say it's "wrong" but more of a survival. Still though still a little too taboo for me.

if there is no other choice, and the meat is off of something(im using thing as in generically) that had died...
there is no problem really
just what one would think of after the ordeal is the real issue though,,,

Seriously i would rather die than do that. Otherwise I would forever recall eating another human. It's just plain wrong.

I would'nt be able to do it. Many things come into play, what do you say to the family of the friend you just nibbled on?

I have no problem with the idea of eating people, it’s a really good way to dispose of the bodies... plus I would win the weirdest food award.

If I was starving to death, and they had died recently, then yes.

Ekkk... Maybe if I was stranded in a godforsaken forest with absolutely nothing else to survive on except me and my fellow cursed human, then I guess I have to. But maybe I'll just die, coz eating another human being is just...I dunno.

at the moment, i'll claim that i wouldn't be capable of doing that, eating another person. I'm the lazy type, so chances are i'd likely be too lazy when the hunger is extreme enough i'd be willing, HOWEVER, i suppose there's always the possibility that hunger would take over, in which case i doubt i'd remember eating the person~ so it's all good. I wouldn't condone anything like that however~ unless they were doomed anyway, with some kind of mortal injury or infection that they couldn't survive.

i don't think i will eat another human being. what if they have diseases? what if they come back to haunt us as ghost? i would rather die of hunger than stomach down another human being

I'd probably start with the ear... not sure why? Then I'd do the limbs because they're easier bits of meat to cook. When you only have the torso and head left its starts getting a little more interesting, I guess you can be a little more creative. Might mix myself up some human haggis.

There is meat in your ears? I thought it was mostly cartilage?

*puts down rack of "ribs"* Never! *burp*
seriously though,
I'd do it if it were my last option. As for best parts to munch on - I would think the arms/legs. Mostly muscle. Wouldn't want the butt...too fatty and it would really illustrate the insult - suck my a$$. :eek13:
and yeah - the ear is cartlidge - except the lobe which is fatty tissue. eeew

If it where my very last option i would i guess, dont kno which parts tho, lol, probably the leg arms or i dunno, not a nice thought to explore in your head. If that person where still alive Id rather die tho than eat them , being with that person at ur side and not dying alone like that is far better than having eaten them, and dying anyways.

That happened in Germany.
A psychopath placed an e-bay request: I'm searching for someone to be eaten.
Some dumass responded to it and actually went there and got himself chopped up in 120 pieces.
The cannibal-psychopath was inprisoned when the police found out.

they should be put in jail or an insane aslylum. what did their children do to them. if it's so bad, they could give them up for adoption.
