Bound?

Hey guys.
I was just wondering, is this new set of episodes about these Bound part of the storyline or another set of fillers?

It seems like an interesting ability they have (at least the woman) to summon certain spirits, such as the fire spirit (if you would call it a spirit). The Bound Ichigo confronted didn't seem like she could do much on her own. Then again she said she didn't feel like fighting, which makes me think she COULD indeed fight.
Feel free to post any thoughts or ideas about the Bound.

Well i hope the big guy isnt draculla that would be so predictable. i actually found the bounds being a sort of anti quincy to be interesting. i mean for a filler thats actually a good way to make new villians. Vampires do hit nicely in a show about spirits. and i mean think about it Quicny where to the left(i have my cross!!! i fight for the light) and shinigami where kinda in the middle. Evil people with spirit powers had to be introduced some time. i mean not all people with spirit power can be good guys right? so there fore we see bounds apear. shinigamis vs hollows(Spirits!). quincys vs bounds(people still alive who see spirits!). fits nicely for fillers

Why do you think they are called "Bounds" instead of Vampires would be way to corny my thoughts are that people were confusing them with Vamps when they finnaly started to consume living human's souls instead of just the one's floating around

Kinda like this storyline, if it has to be fillers then I'm glad its a pretty intresting story line that fits into the whole universe of bleach incl their history. And it "fits" with the whole quincy story etc. This storyline has potential hope they exploit that and put in alot of action.

Sure, it would be nice to have some of the storyline, but a break is always good.

Thank you! finally someone that understands me..Anyways, I think that the Bound is a pretty interesting concept, and am I the only one that thinks that one fire villian was pretty kickass? I wanted to see Ichigo get wasted by that one attack though.

From what I got out of it, Bounds have been labeled with the name vampire meaning there are no such things as vamps.

I think "Bounds" are just fillers. But can't wait till Aizen comes back into the picture and that's when the butt kicking starts. Sucks that Ichigo can't use his Bankai in the real world.

The "Fillers" may be just a training post for ichigo as he gets ready to fight aizen, and do u remember when urahara told ichigo that he couldn't use his bankai because he is restrained in the real world? then what if he acheives bankai in the real world? he would go back to SS even more powerful and can fight aizen toe to toe... and maybe not..

I don't know about toe to toe....when he used his bankai he got stopped by Aizen's finger, so Ichigo is going to have to improve greatly if he wants to compete against Aizen I think.

Then there is the whole inner hollow issue that he has to deal with. It is a major part or the next manga arc, if the anime is going to follow the manga. For some reason, after watching the last three episodes, I think that would be unlikely. The anime has gone way off course from the manga, the plot is ruined.

Mm .. I beg to differ . So far , there's not much of character developments in any of the main characters - Meaning , if this goes on , everything will tie back in just nicely with the next arc . Mm .. perhaps Rukia returning disturbs the future story in some way , but so far , it's still ok .

And no , Ishida is not going to recover his powers . At least not , if the creators intend to continue with the next chapter undisturbed .

Urahara said something about the hyoukou needing a year to mature. it was never mentioned in the manga. maybe that's a hint that the bounds or whatever aren't just fillers but an actual arc since we won't be seeing much of aizen for a "year".

They made that one year thing up because

the manga arc starts in a new semester too. so they are doing that to fit the timeline.

The worst case out of all of this is that, the one year implies we'll have one whole year of fillers before they continue the story... :p:

well, i havent watched bleach eps 68+69 yet but i dont mind spoilers [probably watch it tomorrow]... anyway i doubt there will be 1 yr of filler eps, probably just 2 or 3 months of fillers maybe... i think they will somehow connect the filler arc to the current manga arc, at least i hope so anyway... urahara said the hougyoku takes 1 yr to mature so maybe this filler arc is not totally a filler arc but part of the actual manga arc not shown in the manga but they added extra villains [nova, rin rin, cloud] so the manga can advance more

Amen to that! It annoys me that just because people read the manga, it automatically makes all fillers crap! Just be glad that there are fillers because Bleach won't last long without them. Just look what happen to Rounin Kenshin when anime cought up to manga.

I never read the manga so this is really good anime material. It gives us the chance to see the lesser characters like Soi Fong. Hooray for other characters! It could've been worse...just look at Naruto. I'm glad that Bleach filler didn't turn into a Hollow slaying frenzy like the first few episodes.

The bounds were pretty creative IMO. They based it something other than evil spirits/ghosts. I like the vampire similarity. I don't mind watching fillers if the quality is up there. That way, we get more uninterrupted manga material in the future. This is the best time for fillers because SS Arc just ended.

Yes, I agree chakra. I must say I didn't think of it in the way that less important characters a chance in the spotlight, but you're right. It IS also nice to see new enemies.



Whatever happened to hollows? It seemed like there was 1 or 2 a day (excluding Ichigos and Ishida's duel) and now there seems to be none. Yes, Ichigo could obviously OWN hollows now, but still?
Then again, it doesn't really matter, just one of my observations.

More than likely the hollows sense the reiatsu of Ichi & co and are deciding to lie low for the time being.

Also, they could easily make a time skip in the anime once the manga is near finishing up.

I'm not really sure what they're talking about with the whole bound thing.... It's not in the manga is one thing. This is just totally filler... I'm thinking that this will be a filler arc that leads up to the next arc...

I think every has agrees that this is a filler arc leading to the next manga arc. Bounds are sorta like the Quincys except they have different abilities and attack humans

Bounds are known to the ryoka's as Vampires, but unlike what we believe in vampires... Bounds suck human souls not blood. Its just another filler I suspect, even with the return of rukia.

While usually feeding on the souls of the already dead, recently the Bound have started consuming those of live human beings.

Bounds are just Vampires. It's nothing special. Vampires is very common (but not in Animes (I think)). And the weird sounds the bound makes to get souls really bothers me :sad: .

i am downloading bleach ep68+69 right now so i am not totally sure wat the bounds can do other then suck human souls [btw i dont mind spoilers] which is similar to a vampire sucking blood... although they dont seem that special i think they are still a bit interesting as villains

Plus Urahara said that Aizen wouldn't be able to do anything with Hougyoku needs another year before it could be used so they have to waste time somehow. It doesn't really conflict with the manga that much. I mean, the fillers are just supposed to be a side-story to take time up. The only thing so far out of sync is Ichigo's trouble with summoning bankai. This appears nowhere in the manga and does conflict with the current plot.

I thought maybe the appearence of Rukia and Renji would conflict with the manga storyline but maybe it isn't so.

Well, I guess since Japan doesn't have any vampires in their local folklore it still seems cool and mysterious to them. The whole Dracula thing is a Western/European legend right? So kinda like how the holy cross or Christianity is thrown into some anime just to make it more interesting to Japanese viewers, the scriptwriters chose vampires for effect. Which might also be why there are several vampire anime series out there.

yeh i agree with ryuukishi and there are many pretty good vampire anime (trinity blood, vampire hunter d, just to name a few :D) so hopefully they do well with the bound, they seem pretty interesting from wat i saw in the 1 hr bleach ep
