Several great bosses come to mind: Sephiroth from FFVII, Alma from Ninja Gaiden and Chaos from FFI.
What are yours?

The Fayth from FFX... He was soooooo easy, and you had like infinite life too. I purposely took 3 hours out of my time just to play the fayth and keep killing kimhari or whatever his name is.

Suikoden II's Luca Blight. He was just so.....****ed up. :eek13:

I've got to mention the final boss in Blood Will Tell, because once you've fought him, you will never get the battle out of your head. Mostly because you will just have to keep thinking of ways to beat the damn thing!
Otherwise, I also have to mention Prinny Baal from Disgaea: Hour of Darkness. Baal on his own was hard enough, but when he becomes a prinny, he grows to level 6000 and you have to beat down his 8.5 million HP count. Trust me, he's annoying. But at least I could beat him unlike that damn thing in Blood Will Tell!
Oh yeah and Albido from Xenosaga. There will never be a more memorable bad guy because of just how f*&%ed up he is! I don't know about you but, anyone who can laugh as they rip off their own head and step on it is the creepest mother f*&%er I've ever seen.

Ganon from Zelda.

Bonetail from paper mario. Yes I know it sounds ridiculous but just getting through a 100 floors to get to him was hard enough, but the fact that he was tougher than the final boss really made him memorable.

Emerald Weapon from FF7 because it took me such a freaking long time to kill him cause he's hp is madness

Yunalesca in FFX...that was such a painful battle to fight..and took me the longest of all the battles in the game. How annoying her different abilities are..*shivers*

Jetch from FFX. I can't remember how to spell but he's Tidus's dad. He was so easy that he's etched in my mind FOREVER. gah -_-
On the other hand, a tough boss would be .... hmm... I can't remember any!! T_T time to replay the games again! :D It's the hols. wheee!

Sephiroth in Kingdom Hearts (If you fought him under lvl 60 = death)
Night Terror in SC3 (He rocked)
Baal 2 in Grandia (He is hax)
1. Omega Weapon from FFVIII - fighting him under level 100 = death XD
2. Ruby Weapon from FFVII
3. Ozma from FFIX

hmm last boss in Soldier of fortune for PS2, he cant be killed

Well no cos at 99 you have better chance than level 100 because at level 100 level 5 death will kill you. Also in terms of most memorable boss for me it was bowser on Super Mario 1, prob cos it was my first ever game i completed, for hardest i would go with the main boss of FF4, Ozma from ff9 *ruby and emald from ff7 are piss btw* erm i also enjoyed Liquid Snake in MGS1 just cos i liked the final cutscene

Dark Valefor and Dark Shiva from FFX. I still remember how badly was I defeated the first time I fought them. It was a massacre.
There's also Fou Lou from Breath of Fire 4. I remember this battle clearly because Astral was whooping my butt for over an hour but I still clinged to life and came out of the battle triumphant.

The End, The Fury, and The Boss from Metal Gear Solid 3 - not hard...just plain cool

Lord Victor Nefarious of the Black Dragon Flight.
Game: World of Warcraft
If you've ever fought this guy, he makes every boss look like a push-over.
I mean what, most bosses have 2-3 phases? This guy has 4. It only takes about roughly 15-20 minutes and 40 people...
I'd explain the battle to you, but you might poop your pants.
There's a video to the fight. You and your Final Fantasy bosses...bah.

Safer (sp?) Sephiroth from FF7 is the most memorable boss fight for me. The track One Winged Angel is arguably one of the best music pieces ever. His form was also pretty retarted too.

The last colossus from Shadow of the Colossus. He was like, a boss that I've never seen in any of the many games I've played. The beam things he shoots at you from his hand is like, un-dodgeable... it took me forever just to find out that there was tunnels I could use to get closer to him and not get hit by the beams <_<

too easy right? only for storyline purpose anyway, but generally all the bosses in the game weren't particularly difficult. the devils gave more trouble than any other bosses.

OH YEAH, THE G-TYPE FROM RESIDENT EVIL II WAS PRETTY AWESOME. HE FREAKED ME OUT A COUPLE TIMES WITH HIS APPEARANCES. It was intesting how he would constantly change forms. Some of his incarnations were pretty gruesome. In the end, he just turned into a giant blob. I guess the design team ran out of ideas.

The final fight with Kratos on Tales of Symphonia...you have to go alone as Lloyd....now that can be really tough....
Also, your Doppleganger in Guild Wars. while it's not impossible, it is a definate challenge, and the reason I remember it...is because when you beat him/her, you get to go to Draknor's.....woot! (Draknor's Forge = Mega XP and Gold....for those who don't play GW)
And this large undead creature our party had to fight in a DnD session one time....it killed my wolf... :(

I had the same thing in mind, lol.
(Parasite Eve) But yeah, I think one of the most memorable for me is fighting Eve at the site where the Statue of Liberty was, that was on day 5, I believe. Then when I'm fighting the Ultimate being (or was it the Perfect being, can't remember...) on the battle cruiser the next day, I'm like, "I have to kill her son now?!" After killing all of its imperfect forms and finally get to the Ultimate form, I noticed my bullets weren't doing shit to him, all of my weapons did ZERO damage so I'm like, "**** these guns" and I bust out with my Ultimate move which transforms me into an all powerful angel, pretty much an all destructive being. I go all out on him and then after dealing all that damage to him and return to my normal form, I did ZERO damage still. I'm going crazy cause I can't damage him and I ran out of ideas on how to hurt him at all but I can't stand still because there are lasers on the floors that will cut my legs if I stood still. A couple of minutes after, when I almost gave up and decided to look online for a strategy to kill the Ultimate being, I got a cut scene. A helicopter was flying by in which one of the cops throws me a special type of round that uses a special type of bullet that uses the mothers cells, Eve, and uses that power to penetrate the defenses of the Ultimate being. I equipped the rounds and fired away, and omg, these things were destroying him, 9,999 damage each shot!! Whatever he gave me, I wanted them from the beginning. :D
(Metal Gear Solid 3)Then there’s MGS3. That was one of the best game I’ve played for any system. But the most memorable thing for me was fighting Volgin all the way to the end of the game.
(Final Fantasy XI)Also, another memorable boss fight is going against all the Ark Angels in FFXI and actually beating them all at the same time. Man, that was one of the hardest fights in the game, probably the hardest to be honest. And we weren't being cheap using all black mages only, we had a balanced party of damage deals, mages, and supporters. Now that, my friend, is a true challenge and a memorable boss fight worth remembering.

That last guy in Super Mario RPG, I forgot what his name was, Smithy I think. He can transform into different forms each time, and you have to fight him twice. And one cheat move is an instant KO on your characters which I found was unfair.

Hrmmm I have a couple, most are fairly old school back when bosses were hard, and other stuff.
Any SNK fighter boss, just because of the "snk boss syndrome" they were so insanely broken you can look them that term up on wikapedia and get a result. The worst of which was the original Geese.
Kefka FFVII, the most twisted FF boss EVER, makes seph look like a saint.
Fighting your own father in a random plot twist in ninja gaiden 1 for the nes.
Icon of sin from doom
And killing off your own pet in secret of mana

[QUOTE=Civilian]Sephiroth in FF7QUOTE]
i think almost everyone can agree. the music was big plus also.
when i think bosses, memories of me jumping up and slamming the controller on the ground and spewing out a plethora of vulgarities comes to mind as well as jumping up and doing the booty dance (there are a few others, but the booty dance is THE BEST way to celebrate after whooping that boss' ass.
celeste and the evil celeste in star ocean 2 is one of the top ones. ripper roo from crash bandicoot (hey, i was a kid then. i had nightmares of ripper roo [shivers his timbers]) Emerald weapon wasn't hard really. but RUBY weapon in FF7, DEFINETELY a controller stomping fight. i've never gotten to do the booty dance on him, because i haven't beaten him, even with using a gameshark... and the underground levels in final fantasy tactics (i think 13 floors), i beat it, but it was annoying as hell.

FFVII was the most memorable Final Fantasy game in the bunch. And Final Fantasy has given some really cool and mythical type bosses as well. So it's not really suprising.

Yes. Who can forget Giant Dragon, or Giant Flying Boat, or Giant Floating Ball, or the Giant Giant. Or, on the opposite end of the imaginative spectrum, we have Crazy Ass Half Angel Demon Flying Mo Fo, or Crazy Ass Flying ****ing WHALE Demon, or the all time classic end boss, Ball of Glowing Gas?Non FF players may think Im kidding. I wish I was.
But the real killer is this-THEY ARE EASY. Do not let people fool you into thinking they are hard. You will, eventualy, get too strong and win against them. ALl it takes is patience-no skill

Boss: King Bahamut the first time you go up against him.
Boss: Kirin (son a a fugging biatch)
Boss: Jormungand

All of these are truly memorable fights, some have won, some have lost, some ill never beat

Mundus from DMC 1, yes! that battle was sic as all hell! sad but true...Malak from K.O.T.O.R. 1! i never beat that game completely! seriously....i cannot beat that faggot. its just not in my genetic makeup, or something. i really enjoyed the bos battle with Origin from Tales of Symphonia too.

You didn't beat KOTOR?!? All you have to do is, everytime he runs to replenish his life, destroy several of the floating bodies, because that's what he uses for health replenishments. After several such trips, and you destroying the floating bodies, none will be left and he won't run away any more and you can finish him off. But I dunno, I had like 80 advanced medpacs and 10 life support packs though. I didn't use them all, so u don't need that many.
SolBeowulf19
02-24-2006, 03:39 AM
You have to admit, though, that RE4 was still a very cool game, even though the final boss did kind of suck, especially if you knew what to do.
Another one, for me, was the Patriarch from Xenosaga Episode II.
It was hard for me at first, and I died a few times, but it was a cool battle. Fun too.

I'm sorry, but if a game claims to be RE and doesn't have a Tyrant as a final boss then I have to take it with a grain of salt. Although, it's ironic I say that since for me RE4 was the best game in the series. It just really dropped the ball on the final boss. If he turned into just a similar creature, then I would've been satisfied. Lets hope the clawed badass of lore returns in the next game. Hell, a T-Veronica, G-Virus, Nemesis and Las Plaga Tyrant would be the ultimate enemy. Perhaps Wesker will become such a creature?

The Boss from MGS3. Not as hard as maybe it should have been, but it took place in like this feild of white flowers that was like the most epic scene you can imagine. The Boss was in white so she like blended into them and your most likely in a color that doesnt blend(even snow camo is sort of out of place) anyway great fight to end a great game.

the Emporer in Ninja Gaiden....think you defeat the guy With a lot of effort
(I didn't know yet that using Inferno against him is ....uhm VERY effective) .... to find out that it appears that you need to defeat another one
(a ''second form'')
Kill 2 chars...,Have Cloud use Hades and Phoenix and then spam omnislash/KOTR.
I just used Yuffie with W-summon with KOTR and hades - which paralysed him, and then used 'mime' repeatedly. I also had a mystile, which avoided 'ultima' every time.
It was Emerald who really annoyed me - I fought him about 10 times before working out that Aire Tam Storm was dependant on the amount of materia you had equipped...
Most memorable boss for me was OMEGA Weapon from Final Fantasy VIII - that was a boss who took some skill =).

Thats tough but I am going to have to go with Gannon in Zelda.
It's really one of the only boss fights that I can still remeber. So many other games I have kinda just played and forgotten, but playing through Zelda the first time still remains fresh in my mind for what ever reason.

Archmage Doan in Scarlet Monastery of World of Warcraft. Everytime you enter his room, the music changes and thats the only time WoW PVE was exciting from my point of view, too bad he was too easy.
Goro from MK 1-4 including trilogy. He's always the boss guy before the real boss, and he's always a pain in the ass that kills you in a few hits.

My fav boss was Samus X from Metroid Fusion because of all those scary as hell scenes u go through! My heart was racing all the times I was around it and I actually became scared! And when u fight it for the first time it was SOOO climatic! It was Samus vs. Samus with the same exact powers, beams, weopens, and even skills! lol I <3 Him!!!
He's the coolest boss too. Even though he's not that hard. ^^

Dr. Wily from the Megaman series. I'm shocked nobody has mentioned him yet D: The almighty creator of 8 robots with weaknesses among themselves making them incredibly easy to defeat, 'tis GENIOUS I tell you!
Close seconds are the ghosts from Pac Man, if they count as bosses, and the almighty Bowser as well as all those Koopa Kids, whatever happened to them anyway D:
...I'm also kinda surprised that nobody's said Dr. Robotnik/Eggman, no Sonic fans up in here? XD

Rofl? KH Sephiroth? The only hard thing about him is that Sin's Harvest crap. He is easy as hell.. Just need the reflexes and elixers.. Bah, it pisses me off to hear that Sephiroth is in KHII.. Seymour Guado should be an optional boss.. How badass is Seymour Omnis? Eh? Eh?
Hello?! No Star Ocean 3 fans? I'd have to say that Lenneth Valkyrie is mad hard.. The sad thing is.. If I ever beat her, I'd have to fight like 2 or 3 more bosses.. All of which are stonger than her.. -_-"
Ethereal Queen from Radiata Stories was pretty tough.. But she is easier with Lenneth on your side. Yes, she actually joins you if you beat her in this game. And unlike in SO3, she doesn't cheat or use 1337 hack skillz to one hit kill your characters that have like 50,000 hp and 1000 defense...
And last, even though they aren't bosses.. I'd have to say that it is rather tough fighting Sanada Yukimura and Kunoichi from Samurai Warriors at the same time on hard difficulty.. They seem to protect each other and stuff.. It's wierd.

Final Fantasy 9 was pretty memorable for me because I didn't have to do anything to beat him! I thought that the boss was kind of random seeing as you beat Kuja then you have to fight Fate for one reason or another. I beat the game because Zidane had a water ring on! The boss only did 2 attacks. One was called Grand Cross, which put everyone at 1 HP and a couple status effects including berserk. His next attack was a water wave that hit everyone in the group. Since everyone was in berserk I couldn't do anything and luckily due to the water ring Zidane was healed while everyone else was killed. So it went like this. Grand Cross = 1HP and Zidane in berserk, Zidane would hit the boss once. Water attack heals Zidane, Zidane would hit the boss once. Grand Cross = 1HP and Zidane in berserk, etc etc. I put the controller down and won the game!

Archimonde for WarCraftIII: Reign of Chaos(Night Elf campaign last stage) hard mode, only 3 seconds before I win and he steps on the circle of power and I lose.
Also, Sword Dancer 3/Abyssion on Mania mode for Tales of Symphonia, psycho...
As well, Cyborg Ninja for original MGS on extreme mode(Where your small lifebar can be depleted with 1 or 2 hits).
For FF, it's that super-boss in the last dungeon(FFVIII). Unfortunely for that boss, it got killed by my "The End" limit in one blow.
However, F-Zero GX's last story mode race in extreme mode is painfully memorable.

Most of my choices are influenced by the theme playing during the battle:
Fou-Lu Tyrant (Breath of Fire IV) - The fast-paced, apolcaplyptic feel of the music makes it quite clear that you are facing a powerful opponent. That, and the appearance of the Tyrant dragon itself, hovering menacingly just above the party.
Magus (Chrono Trigger) - The section right before you fight him, where you walk on a dark path with flames igniting to your sides as you approach the chanting Magus, was a great way to kick off the battle. That, and the theme, of course.
I may list others later.

[QUOTE=Civilian]Sephiroth in FF7QUOTE]
i think almost everyone can agree. the music was big plus also.
when i think bosses, memories of me jumping up and slamming the controller on the ground and spewing out a plethora of vulgarities comes to mind as well as jumping up and doing the booty dance (there are a few others, but the booty dance is THE BEST way to celebrate after whooping that boss' ass.
celeste and the evil celeste in star ocean 2 is one of the top ones. ripper roo from crash bandicoot (hey, i was a kid then. i had nightmares of ripper roo [shivers his timbers]) Emerald weapon wasn't hard really. but RUBY weapon in FF7, DEFINETELY a controller stomping fight. i've never gotten to do the booty dance on him, because i haven't beaten him, even with using a gameshark... and the underground levels in final fantasy tactics (i think 13 floors), i beat it, but it was annoying as hell.
i disagree with ruby weapon been harder than emerald weapon i mean he was fcuking walk over for me iu beat him in no time flat if all u need its a added effect materia linked to hades on your armor and use cloud only and suddenly ruby weapon is nothing but a big ***** ;) Emerald weapon on the other hand was freaking insane though i beat him he had an attack that do 9999 damage to everyone in your party thats just wrong anyway the benefits of beating the 2 weapons are nice u get master summon , master magic and master command.
anyway back to topic the most memorable batte for me was the battle against culex in supermario rpg and kefka from ff6(imo the best ff ff7 is highly overated) and also Ganon from ocarina of time . yup and thats it

I haven't played many recent games, so I'd say Sephiroth on KH1.
I never spent the time trying to beat him, or even leveling psat 65, so he was hard to me.

Game: Double Dragon 2: The Revenge
Ending Boss: Shadow Warrior
Reason: For one of the coolest NES games IMO, the Shadow Warrior boss was pretty unique the first time around playing it. It was the first time I ever experienced having to defeat a boss in two separate phases. The cool music that was playing in the background wasn't so bad either. :)

I think he meant FFVIII. The final boss is a female, and she is tough.. She has 3 forms, and a summon..
FFXIII isn't even out yet, although it already has screenshots and trailers. >_>

Oh wow, all Squeenix bosses, eh DB? They're all so damn alike it's hard to really tell them apart =B.
For me, I'd say Ganon on LoZ: OOT. And it was a damn well executed final battle. The music, the lightning, the overall feel. The onlyt hing that could've made it better was if Navi didn't come out at all (so you'd have to figure out his somewhat obvious weakness on your own)
In final fantasy 10 when you had to fight jet and then you had to fight all of your aeons.

Sigma from Megaman X never did beat him all the way..

I'll just name off a few...
Curtis Blackburn from Killer7 was amazing. There's nothing like a "who-fires-first-wins" duel where a pigeon takes off and that's the cue to fire.
The Sanbone Trio from Gitaroo Man on Master mode was fun as well, and tougher than the final song in the game (all that was was mashing buttons as fast as possible).
The Handsome Men fight from Killer7 rocked as well, even if it was scripted.
Oh, and anytime you run into an Agent in The Matrix Online.
Bankai Byakuya in Bleach: Heat the Soul! 3. Senkei = waaaaay to overpowered.
And don't even get me started on Ulquiorra.

UH OH
MUST YOU PROVE THE LENGTH OF YOUR E-DONG?
FF is not an easy series.
I'd say....uh...well, they don't really have "names", but just about any of the final bosses from Radiant Silvergun.
HARDEST GAME EVER.
Seriously.
Devil May Cry 3: Demon Vergil. Damn this guy is tough.

Sephiroth in Kingdom Hearts beating him at level 50 wtih the original keyblade was really a challenge
Yggdrassil from TOS: Hes probably the most persistant boss ever. You fight him like 5 times. The first few times you get your ass handed to you (your damage only does about 1 and he has like 40,000. Do the math.) Then near the end you finally kill him. You think he's dead but after you do something he possessess a friend of yours and leaves. Then you go to getyour friend back but hes still alive =O then you have to fight him again for the last time. When you beat him (finally) He says he does not regret what path he has chosen and he will continue to chose that path. =O Hows that for persistance.

^the first time he pwns you every other time the battle stops in between then in the final 2 battles you pwn him
The most persistent boss was the Shadow Dancer in TOS (side quest boss) you fight him 3 times and everytimje he geta alot more stronger and he ends up being harder than Yggdrasill

The first castle boss in Super Mario world for the Snes. I played it when I was a kid and had an old used Snes. The Snes had a graphics problem. I couldnt see the platform that the boss and Mario stood on. D: I had some many laughs with that lol.

I think the most memorable would have to be Seymour from FFX. He kept coming back. Sepiroth in Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 was a challenge as well but he is easy when you reach level100!
Mugen
08-26-2006, 03:05 AM
Reach level 80 that`s all you need then he`s a breeze (except in KH1 he`s still a little difficult on 80)

My most memorable boss has to be Seymour from Final Fantasy X because he just kept coming back. That guy seriously didn't know when to quit. I got so annoyed when I found out I had to fight him three times.

09-14-2006, 03:28 AM
I would say Sephiroth for one then Luca blight from suikoden 2 he was a crazy character and also the last boss from arc the lad 4 most of the game is easy and even the first form of the last boss was easy as well but then when you get to his second form he goes and one shots my entire party and im like now way took me like 6 tries before i finally figuered out the strategy after that it was simple but its just the fact that i was caught by surprised.
