This is my first ever Bleach Fanfic. Actually, I kinda made a GW fanfic, but I never published it anywhere, so this is my first published fanfic...
I kinda hope to make this a periodic thing, using the same characters and histories...a series if you will... But I don't have a name for it yet, so I'll come back and edit it in later...

[Chapter One: Speed Training]
Atsui was standing in the training courtyard, struggling. He was starting to perspire from the day's workout; the drops of sweat ran down his face into his eye. He ignored the slight stinging sensation. Across the courtyard was his instructor. She wasn't even the least bit winded from their sparring match.
“Atsui-kun, you'll have to do better than that. You'll never be able to properly defend yourself if you can't at least hit me...” The teacher was a slender young woman. Her black uniform wasn't even damp from sweat. Her purple hair came down until it rested on the shoulder of her sleeveless top. “You've got to be faster if you want to do that...”
She rushed back in towards him for the next round. Atsui reacted quickly, he tried to evade the first punch, but it still hit. He felt a sickening thud in his stomach. He quickly recovered, and let loose a kick aimed towards her head. Much to his surprise, by the time his kick reached its mark, she had disappeared.
He heard a voice from behind, “Too slow, you've got to be faster!” A sharp pain in his side told him that she was behind him. He tried to land another kick, but she was gone again. “Use your energy...you can match me!” A fist hit Atsui's face, and she had vanished again.
Atsui was starting to get impatient. ”How can I hit her, if I can't even see her?” Another blow came. “Come on! You can do better!” He was more determined than ever now. ”Calm...Focus....that is the key...” Atsui closed his eyes, calmed his mind, and tried to focus his energy into the fight. He felt the soreness of his muscles begin dissipate, his senses became clearer, and he found that he was less fatigued. A moment later, he heard a hissing sound near his ear. The teacher's foot was cutting through the air towards his head. With little time to react, Atsui turned away from the sound, and put up his hands in an effort to block it.
The sound had stopped. Slowly, Atsui opened his eyes. There, in front of him, was the instructor's foot. He had blocked her attack. Before he could calm himself, she was moving way too fast to block, but now he was able to match her speed.
The instructor laughed. “Not bad. See? I told you you could do it...” She brought her foot back down. “That should be enough for today. You've made a lot of progress, Atsui.” She was beaming with pride.
Atsui was out of breath after the match. His white uniform was soaked in sweat, and his sandy-blonde hair was all out of place. He looked up at the teacher. “Thank you...Sensei...” He said, breathing heavily between words. The sensei responded quickly, “Hey! What did I tell you about calling me Sensei? We're done with training, so don't call me that...” Her tone was slightly severe. Atsui looked up at her with a sly grin, “Oh, I'm sorry Sensei...I'll try to remember next time, Sensei....Won't you forgive me, Sensei? After all, you know best, Sen...” A violent kick to the face cut him off. “SHUT UP!!!”
Atsui got up while wiping the blood from his nose. In a somewhat nasaly, but sincere, voice he apologized, “Ow.... I'm sorry.... I won't do it again, nee-san.”
Atsui was only a few years younger than his sister, but she was still far exceeded him in ability. He had to be careful when teasing her.
The black clad woman ignored him and turned toward the entrance to the building. “I've got some business to take care of...Why don't you go bug Kan?” After Atsui had stood up, he moved toward the door as well. “Hey, that's a good idea...I wonder if he's home?” The woman responded, “Whatever. Just go do something to stay out of my hair for a while.” With that she left the courtyard.
Atsui finished tending to his bloody nose, then went and changed back into his normal clothes. Afterwards, he left the estate to go find his friend Kan. “I hope Kan's not to busy to visit with me,” he mused to himself, “maybe we can go do something to have a little fun...”
