Nights of Solitude

Darken does the night. Darken does the sky. No more tears, no more families, just emptiness. The stories we all know draw tricks in our sight, the thoughts bring fear of what might be in the night. The shoveling has stopped for the day, the people all gone, unless you count the ones underneath that is. To them night and day are the same, they lie in eternal darkness either way, under 6 feet of earth, a marker a top to read, its the same either way. Walk among the shadows of the trees, the ghoulish sounds which echo in the night draw fear in your eyes. Nothing really changes here, the oaks moan as the wind blows down upon them.

Think of the movies, a dark stormy night, a corpse rises from the soil to lead an army of demons and devils. Bloodthirsty beasts who walk the earth at night, returning in the morning after their feast. The way we entertain ourselves, its funny really. Making fun of death, suppose maybe its how some put their fears to rest. Seems everyones afraid of dying. No one wants to end up here, yet in the end none of us have a choice in the matter. We horrifically cry as nightmarishly bad things creap in our dreams. We all must eventually except the fact that we're dying the moment we're born. We're alive and yet dying slowly each second that passes. Gives more reason to live life to the fullest don't you think?

No ones here, you're all alone. Your family may come during the day, but not at night. Is it scarey? To lie in a box so neatly bound, to lie still. Does it frighten you to lay ghoulishly cold in your bed? The night is like that, the night is cold, dark, and without a doubt lonely, especially in a place like this. Lay silent in your cript, lay nestled softly in eternal rest. The ones we love lie beneath us. The night shadows cross over before the sunset. Its sad, but no one walks the rows at night. They lie in solitude. Don't worry, the morning will come, the morning will come.

It was a bit depressing, but I liked it for the sole reason that it was different from many other poems that i've read.
