Thanks. And yeah I'm aware of occasional typos usually a few hours after I release it when its too late to do anything. I usually go through it only once after its done to spot grammatical errors because I'm lazy in that aspect :winking56

It's not really a huge concern to me that it's not error free and special like other subbers because I just kinda do it for speed and I don't consider myself an "official" sub group. I'm totally cool with whatever version people watch as long as they watch Bleach. I'm just one college dude that happens to love Bleach. I get the occasional "omg you suck stop subbing!!" but it doesnt' happen often and I could care less what those people think :face82:

I have to say though that I didn't really know what I was getting myself into when I started it all. Since I'm very new to anime, I didn't know what to expect from non-japanese viewers. Some people are very whiney and complain about everything... It's not like fansubbers are getting paid or anything. But the majority of the feedback I've been getting are positive and motivating.

In a way I think I should have started my work with a less popular anime to get the feel. Whenever I look at animesuki, Bleach episodes have the most downloads... by A LOT. So it kinda freaks me out that so many people are watching my subs.

i will admit i'm indifferent on chihiro subs. i like the speed and all but typos and gramital errors can be annoying to watch and do make people look rather bad and i wish there were slightly more translating. I mean I know what shinigami and zanpakutou and all that kind of stuff means (I know a little rudimentary japanese and a lot of random words and phrases I've heard in anime throughout the last eight years I've been watching subs), but I've got a lot of people who watch it with me who've been watchin the lunar subs have to ask me questions to double check so they make sure they know whats being talked about. first time i saw a chihiro sub, my first reaction was 'they suck', but i have a little more respect for you now chih1ro knowing you're just one person doing it all. I'm friends with people who've worked with fansub groups and they're all like there's this person who does this and this person who does this and this and etc. So in the end I suppose it's usually group effort that slows a fansub project down, but makes the quality better, but you may ought to consider seeing if there's someone else who could possibly look it over once or twice for you since you said you normally only look it over once, before you release it.

Some good points there mel-chan, but Id rather die than translating shinigami/zanpakutou into something else. I don't think I can say "death god" with a straight face. That just sounds ridiculously cheesy, I don't know how people can live with it.

Like I said before, I dont consider myself a fansub grp. Im doing this for fun, so if people say i suck than I don't give a ****. Remember, no one is making you watch it.

i know and i understand that you're doing this for fun and don't consider yourself as a group which is why i have more respect for you than I did at first. And yah I know death god does sound cheesy which is probably why the commercially translated manga decided to use soul reaper, but really more or less that's what a shinigami has been translated as for forever now.
I am also aware no one is making me watch it which is why I typically don't. I only started watching chihiro subs before my lazy arse got involved with bleachportal and found where to get the raw ones so I would be able to see the show as soon as it came out in any way fashion or form. I later just wait and d/l the lunar ones to show to friends, and if the anime club pres will ever let me again, to anime club.
I'm not trying to bash you in any way (just trying to make possibly helpful suggestions) and people like my boyfriend's brother appreciate what you do and with such speed.

Yeah, Chihiro, your definetly and awesome guy. I prefer speed subs compared to waiting, im impatient i guess. Typo's and all that could matter less to me cause as much as i do it on the inet my brain is like spell check now and it just auto corrects stuff lol. Even though you say the visual quality is bad i think its pretty decent, especially for the very brief time it takes you to get it out. Your a one man army lol. keep up the good work! The first chihiro sub I got was a little confusing.. I had to pause/rewind it a few times to reread it to make sure I was understanding what was said..

Second episode I downloaded was much better in regards to quality. I have watched every chihiro since I found out about them, and I can see the quality improving. Small typos and other errors are besides the point.

When DB first started subbing naruto, I couldn't stand them. The encoding sucked (and in all honesty, still does.. timecop is just an idiot), and the subbing was pretty bad. After a while, the subtitles in db's releases progressively got better as the 'team' began pulling their weight more efficiently.

Since you are a single person doing the translating, typesetting, encoding, and everyhing involved, I have to give you a crapload of respect. I can encode, but typesetting, encoding, translating, and releasing? I don't care what anyone says about your releases, because to get a sub out that fast as a one-man operation is extremely impressive!

To translate that fast is a huge accomplishment, to do everything involved that fast is just mind boggling.

Last week, I almost died when the tracker went down, which is why I set up an alternative torrent.. It took me 3 more hours to get it than usual, you're spoiling me!

Nonetheless, don't let those a-holes out there nit-pick about little things. They have the choice of simply *gasp!* not watching it. Keep up the good work, I appreciate what you do, as do many other people.

Chihiro, I like your subs a lot, mainly because of the speed it's released. I don't have any problems with any of your subs since I've watched and read the untranslated stuff (keeping it "shinigami" instead of "death god") and that stuff, so there's no problem there. Also, I don't really notice a quality difference, except your files are 190 mb while Lunar's are 174 mb. I don't know how that works out, but who cares? I watched most of your episodes, and I like the subs a lot (I just said that, didn't I?). So keep up the good work!

I never notice the fonts.. I watch my OGM subtitles on XINE at the default font, just shows you how much I care :P

And I haven't heard about the new server.. Did they accept my invitation to host on my tracker? IF they did, then the new server will be able to handle the load, no doubt :P

I deal with over 10,000 rabid anime fans swapping torrents through my server at any given time, so if they're gonna give me a shot, then I'm up for the challenge.

If not, oh well.. More bandwidth for me to download the new episode, no loss ^_^

Chih1ro i must say, im bittorenting ur episode and its the fastest torrent i have ever gotten, and im connected to 1 peer and 18 seeders. for naruto im connected to 30 seeders and 12 peers and that takes about half a day on cable. i just stared yours about 7 min ago and its at 25% already.<3 lol so now ,in my opinion, ur the fastest subber and fastest bittorrent i have gotten or seen so far.
