When I finally decided to give Bleach a try, I decided to download Lunar's 50 episode batch torrent. It took like four days to finish downloading it, but that was good since it finished on Friday morning and I then had an entire weekend to watch them all. It was great, somewhere along episode 9 or 10 I got hooked and couldn't stop watching.

There are a lot of fansubs and even a lot of official translatons, that eventhough I don't speak any Japanese, I can tell something was lost or otherwise screwed up in translation. These first 50 by Lunar only seemed to have one or two places where I thought that (way better than a lot of official translatons).

So I then downloaded the next 10 from Lunar and had the same opinion.
But then it got hard to find the rest of the episodes from Lunar. I tried some of the others. DB turned out to be the one I'm dowloading now.

Now since episode 61, I've been watching the DB release first, then when Lunar gets around to it, watching Lunar. Is it just me or has their translation quality started to slip? There seems like a lot of places where DB's translation worked better. Should I rewatch the first episodes from another fansub group?

Lunar I believe has only finished up to episode 63 or 64...somewhere around there.

I gave up checking weekly since they cut back entirely on their release speeds. I now check once every 3 weeks or so, and usually find a single new release from them. >_<

The quality on Lunar was better... I havnt been using Lunar for a while now coz I just want it as fast as I want... I agree with you however on the fact that DB is getting much better... And their release speed is superb... Thanx DB!!!

It's probably smart to have at least a couple episodes of DB, simple because some of the termination is the actual japanese words. Lunar translates as many as possible, like shinigami = death god zanpak-to = soul slayer. However, Lunar does seem to have the best translations, and if you're not done with the episodes, then I suggest sticking with Lunar. They had a few problems a while ago and pretty much stopped translating all together, but now they're on full speed and currently at episode 65.

I watched half the series with Bleach Society and half with lunar and for the new ones DB. And i have to say I preferred bleach society to lunar because i think death god sounds alot more lame than soul reaper but that is just me. I also like DB because it is nice to see the japanese terminology.

I watched most of them with Lunar. Started watching DB when Lunar didn't have translations for the new episodes.

since i don't have downloading capability here, i have a friend burn me episodes on a dvd (kyra. dunno if she's actually on this forum. goes by a lot of names), but i'm satisfied with the subs. though my understanding of nihongo is shallow (sadly), i like how some of the translations have been exagerrated (knowing how something is literally translated and translated by how it is expressed by tone of voice, etc)

i'm not sure exactly who the episodes come from, but all i have to say is i'm happy with what i got. no complaints here!

ive mostly watch lunar until they stopped at the later episodes
DB is good, but i like lunar better, because the text lunar uses is nicer xDD

Lunar is now up to episode 67. Hopefully by this time next week they will sub episode 71.

Lunar just released ep 67... therye trying to het back fast... Lunar was good but the stopping made me swutch to DB.. dont know yet if ill go back to Lunar though. ^ ^

i like lunar better than DB. there is more effort put into the subs imo. there are some explanations and its a lot more formal imo. DB is the speed demon, but thats not a bad thing since their translation is pretty decent. i just prefer lunar because all my episodes are subbed by lunar lol. i d/l DB, then when lunar comes out i d/l that and scrap DB xD

that depends which method the translators used in the subbing....

I'm a Lunar fan since the first episode of Bleach. They're quality in terms of translation is top notch. I actually prefer they're work over DB. I have downloaded and watched both DB's and Lunar's.

For Quality... stick with Lunar.
For Speed... stick with DB. Their quality is pretty good for a speed subber.

I'm using DB right now for the fillers. As soon as the series return back to the canon stuff, I'll switch back to Lunar. Lunar should catch up by that time. :)

From my very first episode, I've downloaded them all from Lunar and was very satisfied with their translation.

There was once when I tried Chihiro and BleachSociety but I don't it too much.

I'll still stick to Lunar.

I have eps 1-61 with Lunar, but when they slowed down, I switched to Dattebayo. I guess a lot of people did that.

I'm pleased with Dattebayo's quality and very pleased with their speed. I suppose that when Lunar catches up, I'll continue to DL Dattebayo's releases first, but redownload Lunar's when they come out, for accuracy. I'll Delete the Dattebayo ep and keep the Lunar one for future entertainment...

As to your original question, it seems everyone has strayed a little bit...lol. I don't see why you would have to DL all the Dattebayo episodes, I think you should be able to get along fine without that. You might want to do what me and some others seem to be doing, DL Lunar's after they release it...

i began with downloading from lunar when i first watched bleach but now i am downloading dattebayos version cos lunar was getting slow a while back... in my opinion i like DB better cos the translations are better and even though they sub fast, the quality is as good as lunars... i downloaded bleach societys and hell fansubs versions of bleach before but i didnt like how they translated it... u can download DBs version then download lunars version to keep if u like lunars version better

i really dont care!! at first i wasnt able to download episodes by myself(got them from a friend) but now that i could Lunar was inactive! x_x
although i liked lunar's text!! xD
