... destroy the anime for me? I mean spoiling and such.

Depends. Are you ready to know all that will happen in the future episodes? Because if you read the Manga, you'll just be seeing it animated, so Anime episodes will be of no surprise. If not, than forget it. If you are, however, ready to see where the storyline progresses, and ready for new and far more exiting developments (right now every Anime related development is lame, because it's not original storyline), than yes, go ahead and read it. The point is, that since the Anime shoes the manga animated it will show you what happens after the point where the fillers begun. It won't however, spoil the Bleach storyline for you, because you'll just have newer developments to wait for... You can always read up to chapter 180/181, where the last non-filler was, and just wait till the Anime gets back on the original story. Then just read the corresponding chapters (I'm sure you'll know when the Anime returns to the original story... the Manga readers will go insane over it. And as for corresponding chapters, just ask around. Someone is bound (Bounto!!!) to tell you what to read). If I was to state my opinion on the matter, I'd suggest reading the Manga, the plot gets much more exiting after the return to Earth. Hope I helped. ^____________^.

I guess that when you read the manga first before watching the anime you'd just have the entire storyline revealed. There are differences though

Make no mistake it will destroy it. It happened to me, and I still like the anime, but it's just not the same...However, the manga rocks so its all good.

Right now we're going through a filler arc, so us manga readers don't even know what's gunna happen :X But when we're back on track, sure you'll know what's gunna happen, but it's just not the same as the anime...

True. Reading the manga only satisfies your curiosity but in the end it will ruin the anime, that is why I dont read the manga. But now filler episodes are on and the only thing that keeps me in Bleach is reading the manga ^_^

Theres nothing wrong with reading the manga, because Bleach is Bleach, no matter what format it's in. However, knowing what happens before it becomes animated will spoil it for you. The choice is up to you but remember that once you hit the brick wall and run out of bleach anime and manga, you will go insane for at least a week..Then you'll be fine.

I'd suggest reading the manga it's really good. It's real cool to see how the anime will be animated and cut based on what happened in the manga. And the manga has a different style of telling the story than the anime (well since you're reading it instead of watching). If you're worring about spoiling the anime then maybe you should try looking at some of the manga for the episodes you've already seen and that may help you and others decide if you want to read the newer manga. In my opinion the new that has only been in the manga is the best one yet, real good stuff.

Hey, you people prtaray it as if reading the Manga is such a great sin... like I said: yes it will destroy the Anime for you, because the Manga is far more advanced (or should be). It won't destroy the storyline or plot for you.

SumDumGai

Don't read it, keep yourself pure.

Keeping pure would be reading only the manga... The manga is what Kubo Tite originally makes and what he's letting his staff make fillers for so it can go far ahead of the anime... The anime leaves out things that the manga also has so its the anime and then some. I guarantee you'll get hooked on the manga just like you did with the anime... and it'll be 2x the Bleach goodness every week!

Add to that, if there's no Anime (like this week, next release is on March 7th) you'll still have the Manga.

I read the manga and watch the anime, don't really care for spoilers either. I love to see how the animators transalated the manga into a animation. I think you should do it. For example, I can't wait until the anime comes to the point where the manga is right now, cause I want to see that animated.

I pointed out that the manga is awesome, it will just ruin the anime for you. But bleach is bleach so it doesnt matter whether you're reading the manga or watching the anime, because its still the same storyline and concept. I really wish more people would read the manga too, they dont know what they're missing.

I read the manga first..and when the anime first aired...it really didn't ruin anything for me.I enjoy both versions very much^^

Yeah..Bleach is Bleach, lucky for us,it come in different art/media forms! lol
Every week,I always find myself looking forward to see the next episode, even though I already know pretty much how things will turn out.Just to see and hear the characters that we love so much in action! lol

To be honest, those who don't read the manga are really missing something (in my opinion)...the beauty that is art.I think that is pretty self-explanatory...lol

All in all,the manga and the anime are different enteties. Each should be appreciate and enjoy.^__^

I really can't say because I only actually got around o starting to read the magna after they started the fillers but I had read the english version of the pretty much through Grand Fisher. But seriously if you're like me then what you really care about is the story. You want find out as much as possible as soon as possible. As an added bonus it's pretty neat to see every thing animated.

depends..if you follow the anime faithfully, it won't be spoiling for you.. like from where it originally left, that byakuya explain to rukia about hisana, and from there, just continue the manga.. no spoilers..

In my personal opinion, reading manga actually enhances one's experience with the anime. Now I'm a new Bleach fan and am just now getting caught up with the anime, so I haven't had time to download and read all the manga yet, but I know this because it happened for me with Naruto. In the manga you get the excitement of the new plot developments and storyline twists, while in the anime you can enjoy seeing it in motion. For example, with the Kuchiki and Ichigo fight in the "Save Rukia" story arc - if I had read that in the manga first, I'd be dying to see the episodes. And I'd be going nuts over it as I watched.

So say it spoils the story if you like, but I don't really look at it that way. Besides, sometimes you see nifty little tidbits in an anime that didn't show up in the original manga but don't change the storyline with their presence, and that's always cool.

Plus, no fear of spoilers. (^_~)

For me, I read the manga AND watch the anime too. The manga satisfies me by letting me know what will come in the future episodes in the anime. The anime right now contains fillers, so it's not as interesting as the manga, but watching the anime makes everything more animated for me and I enjoy watching the characters in action! ^__^ It's personal preference, but there really are no spoilers...

Watch the Anime first THEN read the Manga, you will have a very good database then, also, if you read the manga first then watch the anime you'll end up saying "Where did that bit go?" cause the Manga has more extra bits than the anime. Whatever you do, don't read the manga till you finish the anime ( at least up to episode 63 ).

The manga doesn't have any of these fillers you see recently however it would spoil the whole plot for you indeed. Then again I read the manga and watch the anime like nothing happened. Seeing still pictures and reading the words in the manga makes me anticipate the anime episode even more to see the how the characters were animated. Its like completing the picture for me. It varies from person to person though :/.

That's why manga roks u got no fillers, and u will see the story in its origilna version , i'm actuallly reading naruto , and let me tell u it is getting better than the firts season, and i think reading manga will not destroy u r experiance with anime , i think it will help u understand the story better:doindadom

i think manga will always help understand the story , because eventhough its a bit diferent from anime it will give special details about things tha happen in the anime story, beacuse sometimes they happen so fast that u dont pay attention to them.:toocool:

I picked up volumes 1, 2, and 4 at the mall today (3 was not in stock xD) and when I was reading them, it was nice to have parts of the anime play in my mind while reading the volumes. The words match almost exact with how the anime dialogue went. The manga is nice so far.

In my honest opinion, the only thing reading the manga would really spoil for you would be major plot twists. (like Aizen's fake death) But really, these plot twists are a lot more dramatic and well drawn out in the manga. Kubo does great cliffhangers to make it real powerful in the manga-which usually gets cut out of the anime since a single episode would be around 3 mangas long.

When a book is made into a movie, would you rather read the book first or watch the movie first?

If you rather read the book first, then you should read the manga. If you rather watch the movie first, then you shouldn't read the manga until after the series is over.

For me I rather watch the movie first. Then if I want more detail or to give it more thought, I read the book.

During the fillers I finally broke down and started reading the manga. When we get back to the real story, I'm sure I'm going to be sorry. But for now, I'm really enjoying it.

True, true. I, for one, like the Anime even more after I read the manga. And someone else may say that he or she doesn't like it. I'm just saying, the manga gives more storyline and information, while the anime is more to see the fights and plot animated.

There's always more depth with the manga than the anime. Anime always condenses and skips through parts to cut down on labor.

Manga is for the true fans.

Reading the manga is nothing like reading a book for a movie, it's looking at pictures... lol A book in my opinion is one hundred times more boring to read than a manga, don't get me wrong I read books casually, but reading a comic book is nothing like that. It's the same as watching the anime, except the manga is the original copy and it has some extra 'footage' that the anime cuts out once in a while. Plus the chapters are much more dramatic than watching the anime with cliffhangers that you wouldn't have since a single anime episode could take 3 manga chapters, and designs that you really can't animate. I love both, and before fillers started I thought reading the manga would ruin the anime for me, but I think it makes me appreciate the anime a whole lot more and I look forward to watching the manga arc animated even more now.

well personally I think reading the manga would ruin the anime. Espcially with and action anime like bleach, when reading the manga sometimes you are like 'ok, wtf just happened' cause the way that the action is presented is sometimes confusing, and you wouldn't appriciate what happened as much as if you watched the anime.

I've only read 4 chapters past where the anime is where now and I've already encountered a HUGE spoiler which I regret doing. So I decided to stop reading the manga and just wait for the anime. i think if you want to appriciate BOTH the manga and the anime, then watch the anime first, THEN read the manga.

Strangely enough when I originally started reading the Manga (Must have been sometime around episode 55-ish), I found it unfulfilling because I rushed through it wanting to know what happened next. But now that I'm fully caught up in both the anime and the Manga, I find myself desperate for the next Manga chapter, and the pacing of it is very well gauged by the creator I feel. (I liked the Manga so much that I'm in a scanlation group :winking56)

Basically, if you do read the Manga, I'd advise you not to rush through it. The Manga is a fantastic work, but if you rush it like I did then fundamentally all you are doing is ruining the anime for yourself.

1 chapter a day is reasonable, and definetly fulfilling. At any rate, the manga will ruin the anime for you in terms of storyline. IMO, the action scenes are better off animated.

Yeah I admit I kind of did the same when I started reading the manga. :rolleye09 But having the anime and the manga to look forward to every week just doubles your bleach fix. I don't think the anime is ruined for me at all now that I know what main things happen, it's going to be amazing to see it animated, and to see the greater details in battle, etc.
