I relize that this sounds very stupidand newb to say,but how does Ichigo Return to his body. Here me out on this one.

When he impaled himself on Rukia's Zanpaktou,he took all of the power, but also note, like a normal Shinigami,he had no chain of fate (hence one of my beleifs he's half hollow). Without that, suposedly your not able to return to your body, yet ichigo is capable.i admit im assuming here, but if he were to only gain part of the power,he would still have his chain on him,but this turned out diferent for him.

as well, his chain continued to remain on his body, yet it would not seem, conected his soul.

Mere oversight on the manga-ka's part,or intentional question to ponder.

anyway's,im woundering what is binding Ichigo's body to his soul?

*Entering guess mode*

Well Ichigo doesn't die so you wouldn't expect there to be a chain of fate attached to him.

He is having an outer-body experience that lasts awhile.

I think it might be what Alazar said, but I'm not sure.

Well actually, Ichigo became a Shinigami when he stabbed himself. Thus, he had no Chain of Fate. How did he became a Shinigami? Well, basicaly he died because he stabbed himself ^^.

Later on, when he has the Chain of Fate, it is because he is no longer Shinigami.

And finally, since he became a Shinigami, his body is now a Gigai. He can enter it and exit it when need be, he has nothing that restricts him.

At no point in the series did it say that Ichigo was using a gigai...

You misunderstood. I meant that his body is like Gigai because he is a Shinigami. Nothing binds him to it wheb he is a Shinigami.

It's like Undying said,
As he stabbed Rukias Zanpakuto through himself, he became a Shinigami so --> no Chain of Fate

And like Renji (u see in the Fillers) he uses -his body- as a Gigai but it's just his body ...

thats special about ichigo, that hes a substitude shinigami!
he is able to come back to his body because he became shinigami while being human at the same time(all other shinigamis were souls before becoming shinigamis. this is shown by Ukitake when he says that he is the first substitute shinigami)).. i hope this explains the body part you asked and as for the chain of fate part Undying was accurate!

Yes but keep in mind that substutute shinigami are only supposed to take part of the power.ichigo took all of rukia's power, making him a full-fleged,though not fully-trained,shinigami.

And as far as the gigai idea goes,it would be possible, but i would also think it a good idea to look into that.it sounds a little to strait-forward.last i checked, gigai were manufactured, not organic like a real body.

you got it wrong from the beggining!
i personally dont know the reason why ichigo tool all of rukias powers(maybe its explained in the manga. its too boring reading since you have seen the anime).
and there is no such thing as a substitute shinigami taking half or all powers from another shinigami.
ok lets get this strait once and for all:
shinigamis, hollows and "ghosts" ==> souls(right?) but different form from each other.
ichigo was a common man at the beggining. when he got powers from rukia his common soul just transformed into a shinigami(thats why he doesnt need the chain) but ichigo was a live person before he became a shinigami so he is still a human. thats the term if a substitute shinigami and there never was before one.

when ppl get sent over to rukongai
they dont have a chain of fate
when ichigo seperates from his body
im guessing he becomes a spirit
instead of a living soul?

I actually think that the most likely conclusion is that Ichigo's body is like a Gigai, in that he can enter and exit it at will without fear of dissolving into a hollow. Of course this only applies until Shattered Shaft. And it's probable he took all of Rukia's power becuase he had his own shinigami powers.

O---K. Ichigo took all of Rukia's powers because his Shinigami powers are so huge they "sucked" all of Rukia's.

As for substitute Shinigami, it has nothing to do with "taking powers", a substitude Shinigami is a living (or ded, for that matter) soul who trained outside of the Shinigami Academi, and has Shinigami powers (Zanpaku-to, Shikai, stuff like that), and is operating outside of Soul-Society's rules. Ichigo is like that. He had Shinigami powers of his own, and now brought them out. So he's a substitute Shinigami. Him taking the powers from Rukia was something that was a desperate measure and should never happened (thus the crime).

And as for Ichigo's body, I will repeat it: his body now acts as Gigai, because he is a Shinigami. A Shinigami can moce freely in spirit form, and is not chained down to his body (a Shinigami actually changes many rules in the world - like the rule where a soul must be chained to it's body and have a Chain of Fate, hence the name "Shinigami" - God of Death).

Just another note: souls who are sent into Soul-Society have a Chain, but it is torn (they are dead and hence have no link to their bodies). If that chain is remoevd (corrodes) than the soul will become a Hollow.
