From another battle thread, it has transpired that Dragoneyes001 ( I trust I have the name correct) is an accomplished and successful artist who has made over $200 000 from selling his work.
I cannot claim to have got this far, but I am an art student who likes to paint in oils from time to time.
Dragoneyes, step out from the crowd, and challenge me with a painting of your own. It should preferably also be in oils, but that is not essential if you don't like working in them.
Rules: 1 picture, no Triptychs or Diptychs or anything.
2. Paints only, preferably oils. No mixed media.
I will post up my a photo of my painting when you accept, although I will have to wait until tomorrow.
As there has never been a painting battle here before, the forum is not used to anything, so conformism vs non-conformism does not apply.

I've already posted some of my paintings in fan art! a lot of my commissions are murals and private property of the home owners.
I'll post this one as a single piece. since you say no mixed media it'll remain unframed and off angle but cant be helped! its in acrylic paints sorry!

its a scene from queen Nefertari's tomb i cant find an online picture of the original just one similar in another tomb!
edit: now that you have posted your picture. by the way nice piece!
i'll explain why I chose the one I'm useing. after about 8 weeks of painting tomb art reproductions for the client I gained a huge level of respect for the original artists the amount of detail they used while being constrained to 2D style is amazing I really sugest if you ever get the chance to see some original works up close and personal do it!

Nice pic... will post mine as soon as I get home :)
EDIT: Ok, here is my picture. Dragoneyes, feel free to post a higher quality copy of yours if you posted the above small-sized one thinking that the pictures had to be sig size.
My painting is in the spoiler below.

Even bigger image:http://www.sumpffuchs.com/img/getimg/Painting_copy.jpg
Anyway, about the picture: It's not a copy of anything, just original work but influenced by the style of Lucian Freud (google him up if you want). The colours aren't meant to be realistic, as the picture isn't representational, so voting against me "CUZ DA COLORZ ARE SPAZZED" is no better than voting against dragoneyes "CUZ ITZ ALL 2D". I went for expression rather than realism, basically.
Black bit at the bottom is an unfortunate shadow that was there when I took the photo.
Anyway, apparently our styles are totally different, so it will be interesting to see how this batle turns out. First to 5, good luck, and may the best ...(man?) win :)
EDIT 2: I think it's first to 5.

i dunno if y'all's decided on vote numbers, i didn't see anything but...
maximoose gmv- it's really ahrd to put into words the feelings this has given me. it's an artistic feeling. it actually mostly brings memories. one thing i love to do when painting with acrylics is paint myself. i love paint on skin, so cool, so smooth. but when it dries, it itches and peels, and altho not an annoying feeling, it hold a sense of loss, the thrill of painting skin is gone, now all that's left is the need to wash. so i guess that's how this makes me feel.
dragoneyes- it'd probably a really good reproduction, with such a small pic and no original to compare to, i can't be positive. but it doesn't really give me any feelings. no memories really, except that it's been a long time since my kids have watched their ducktales video...

Maximoose-I really liked your painting. The colors, the feel of it were very abstract and it's really just a really good job on painting.
Dragoneyes-I'm sure that it's a good reproduction...but that's what it is a reproduction. I know it takes skill to make a reproduction but there is not artistic expression in it.

maximoose gmv but i definently have to give dragon eyes props for his work seeing as i also have had to do some work for a person though i was not paid for it it was a favor i know how hard it is just to not go off and start to give it your own twist very good both of you but maximoose's just stole my attention as it showed such deep emotion and complexity.=)
moose GMV - it looks really nice and...artistic =). Really well painted aswell.
Dragoneyes - ^ what they said...its a really great painting - I like the 2D style, but I just don't really get any feeling from it...
