I'm mainly a manga reader, but I might watch the filler.. because I'm bored. Should I watch it, or is it a waste of my time?

I would recommend watching the fillers, I dont think that they are a waste of time. They arent as good as the canon storyline episodes, but they do offer a lot of character developement and a decent story. The fights and animation lack, but overall the fillers are alright. Definently watchable..

I wouldn't skip over the fillers, even though sometimes they may be a bit painful to watch. I haven't really seen any character development though... Ichigo, Rukia, Chad and Orihime pretty much say the most predictable lines and just run around and look surprised when a bad guy shows up. :rolleye09 Ishida may have had a little development after this episode since it's going back to the history of his mother and what not. Also you could say Ichigo and Renji become closer comrades if you consider getting into catfights every episode over what flavor ice cream to order is getting closer. :rolleye09

How have you not seen character developement? Inoue is trying her hardest so that she doesnt become bothersome to Ichigo, so she trains to achieve this goal. She pours out her feelings to Tatsuki and we really get to see the depth of her character and the pain that shes going through to become worthy to Ichigo. The same goes for Sado, who wants to know what it's like to have this incredible power that he's given. This shows that he's not only the quiet type, but the type of person that would protect his friends and search for the true power within himself. We've already explored Ishida's role in the current episodes as a quincy, and we experience the pain and turmoil that he must be going through, knowing that he has lost his powers permanently.
Also the introduction of the mod souls, which each have a unique personality, Ririn(annoying girl) Claude (has a kon type personality) and Nova (the quiet type). We also see developement into Urahara's personality and how he was willing to send mod souls out to prepare Ichigo and his friends to work together when the time comes for a future battle in which case they will need to depend on what Urahara taught them. The Introduction to the bound also adds character developement to a completely new array of villians, and essentially a good spirited bound that isnt evil like the rest of them. The character developement is there, and while it may seem pointless because they're running around aimlessly, there are subtle moments in which you can delve into the characters personalities and feel like you really get to know them.
the worth of it is determined only after you've watched it...

The fillers aren't that bad, but don't expect anything even close to the quality of the main storyline.

I think you should keep watching, beside what else would you watch?

They're worth watching but keep in mind that they aren't as great as the main storyline. So if the fillers seems scrappy, it's because the quality of the storyline and anime aren't that great, but aren't that bad either.

So far it hasn't been a waste of time but who knows what might happen in the future. But as it looks now I think you should watch them.

The only thing that worries me is that they'll drag it past episode 100... the story is decent so far, animation is deteriorating however. give it a go still.

I certainly don't think it's a waste of time. Just don't compare it to the manga too hard... pretend you never read the manga and you'll love Bleach fillers.
I never read the manga... and I would have never known that we were in fillers. The Bleach fillers were that good. I wish Naruto fillers were this good.

Hello! :)
I am glad to see that many are saying that the fillers are worth watching. I know that it is a hard to wait for the manga elements to come back but it is rather nice to have some fun with the story. It will start to get intense again when the mange elements come back. So I say have fun watching the fillers.

Yeah, as long as the fillers aren't like 25 eps. long, we'll be fine.

Hello! :)
I hope they will not last that long. I wonder how long they will last. Anyway I intend to keep watching the fillers.

I'll watch them too, of course, but I doubt that there is less than 8-9 episodes left, maybe more. *sigh*
Hey, we are from the same state. ^_^

Meh. It's not that late yet. I don't have school this week anyways.
To stay on topic, evn though these fillers do not matc the quality of the main story, they are still better than most of other fillers in other animes.

Hello! :)
I agree with you that they are much better. I rather like the turn that they are taking. I also like the fun stuff with the Soul Society members. It is nice to see them living for them normal lives.

Yeah, like Renji wearing normal clothes seems weird but funny.

Hello! :)
I rather wish that they would show some scene with Byakuya. I am not sure what kind of scene but it would be neat. My favorite scene with the Soul Society is the one with Mayuri. That was priceless.

Well, you sort of have to watch the fillers. They're mixing a bit of the manga in there, and i think that if you plan to watch the anime after the fillers (like I do) then you have watch them. There are only minor things from the manga that they've brought in so its no big deal if you watch it or not, but some scenes are worth watching, so if you have spare time on your hands, go ahead and try them :)

Yup, they are. It might be boring sometimes, but you'll never know when something interesting/exciting/mysterious pops up. So i watch them thoroughly, love it or not.
