In our world most people are married before their 40's. So why in SS are known only 2 marriages?: Byakuya and Hisana, Kaien and ... whathver she's called. In those 100 years of life every shinigami has got a time to marry even twice, but as we see...
So, why?

I just dont think the makers of bleach feel it quite necessary to make every marriage in ss publicly known or they dont feel its relevant to the series.

The only times marriage has been important was when it was mentioned. I think marriages would make Bleach more complicated/interfere witht he main plot.

yea, It's really not that important to bleach, so I dont think that Kubo really has to elaborate on marriages within soul society. Many probably occur, it's just that we dont get to see the depth of most characters in Soul Society, because we are immersed in the main plot, which is already deep enough. Theres no need to complicated bleach even further with recognizing marriages, and all that miniscule stuff thats not really needed.

Possibly. However as you said, it is not a vital part of the story. Therfore the marriages are only mentioned when they are important to the main storyline (Kaien and >wife's name< are important to show why did Kaien fight alone and Hisana and Byakuya are important for Rukia's history).

But it still looks weird to me. If marriages are possible, so why not to marry?...

Yeah, plus they'll have to drag the lawyers out of Hell for the divorces then in ss;)

:) if the couples in bleach are mostly married then there's little room for romance development and courtship
well, i think there area lot of marriages in Rukongai.
Theres not much in the court of pure souls bcuz there are only a small amount of potential wives. Like how many female shinigami we saw? i think its under 10.
In SS, there is no Law Firm to help couples who needed to break up, and people are sad cause of that, nobody wanna get married just in case.
- no will writing
- women may not get the dog or the kids
- the guy takes home a mistress
- no lawyers for either side
- ends up slashing each other with a zanpakutou.
Hence...all in all, unless it has a significant contribution to the storyline, I doubt it.

True..........i agree with devildude. Couples in a bad relationships will only ended up killing one another.
